In 1842, Inventor Jerome Increase Case established Case within Racine. He started building threshing machinery. By the year 1912, Case had become established in the construction machinery business. The rapidly started to produce road building machinery like steam rollers and graders. Case grew their construction machine business through various acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation in the year 1957. Case had expanded their business by the middle part of the 1990s to become the top maker of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
Case merged with the corporation New Holland during 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising several of the leading brands of agricultural and construction machines in the world.
