CareLift Equipment has been engineering and making excellent rough terrain forklifts since 1962. Each day the company strives to deliver value and help their consumers reach their objectives because they know the bottom line is dependability and performance.
Boom lifts come in 2 general types, the articulated boom lift and straight boom lift. These units are normally powered hydraulically. Most often straight booms are the great alternative for jobs which require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be vertically raised to below horizontal. Since the operator could maneuver and steer the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile machine. These models are available in 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive, as well as gas, diesel or propane configurations.
The articulated boom lifts are utilized for jobs that need to reach up and over obstacles so as to gain access. These specialized lifts are used for jobs which are not easily carried out by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to move easily around any objects in the work environment.
To be able to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is fully extended, some heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Correct training is necessary before operating boom lifts in order to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for tasks requiring lots of man hours to be completed in much less time. These machines have really increased productivity and have revolutionized the material handling business.
