Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The arm, or crane, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the person using it to lift the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard lift trucks can not move the load towards and away from the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in both agriculture and construction. It is better for applications where greater lift and control is necessary.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It is available with a backrest which protects the loads from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is utilized for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is meant to hoist staff is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
