Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run using liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for numerous uses. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Turn off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
