The kind of vehicle usually found inside factories, warehouses and different work locations where moving heavy materials from one location to another is necessary is called a forklift. The mast is the mechanism located on the front of the forklift that hydraulically lowers and raises the load. The "cat" is the area that is protected where the operator of the forklift sits.
Forklifts can carry loads which weigh between one to five tons. Some types could be used to carry shipping containers and loads that are much heavier.
Forklift tires should be checked and maintained on a regular basis. The types of tires on various forklifts differ based on factors like frequency of use, weight of the loads and ground surfaces. Every forklift driver must have access to a forklift jack, tire press and replacement tires.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
Perform tire inspections on a regular basis. Watch for indications of damage and wear to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40%, it must be replaced.
When purchasing tires, ensure that you are purchasing the right kind - polyurethane, solid or pneumatic.
When you have to replace the tires, the forklift jack should be positioned under the tire. You could easily change the tires if you raise the forklift high enough.
To remove the damaged tire, pull the tire from the rim using the tire press. Install the new tire and secure it properly. If you are changing more than one tire and you only have one jack, lower the forklift, and then reposition the jack at the next tire.
On-site tire repair could be performed by a repair company. If the tire is extremely big for both in-house and mobile tire presses, the damaged tire should be transported to a shop that has a stationary tire press.
